For Jamie Clyde, the process of creation is its own art before her photographs ever reach their final canvas.  Her methods eschew the traditional by blending photography with other mediums.  Her artwork ultimately transports the viewer from enjoyment of pure aesthetics to contemplation of social circumstances with a bit of satire in between.   Whether the final piece is meant to uplift or ruminate, each state of it’s conception is intentional.  In Imbuing her photographs with these layers of purpose, Jamie Clyde’s hope is that her work becomes part of a continuing dialogue.

Jamie Clyde studied at the University of Utah.  After receiving her BFA in photography she moved to NYC to pursue her artwork.  She now resides in Salt Lake City, Utah where she continues to explore photography and mixed media for the construction of aesthetically evaluative and ethically evaluative work.
